SOUNDS LIKE HATE

[Summer 2021]  In an exciting development, I was hired as an editor for the podcast "Sounds Like Hate", working on two episodes in Season 2 in the Spring, and I'm currently working on Season 3, to be released this fall.  I've done plenty of audio editing and sound design throughout my career and sound design is one of my favorite parts of the video editing process, so it's really wonderful to be able to focus wholly on sound.  This podcast is powerful, critical, and timely.  It delves deep into white supremacist groups, the fight to remove Confederate monuments, and a white power group planning a race war.  And that is just three of the topics, there is so much more!  I cannot recommend it enough: https://soundslikehate.org/

[Summer 2021] Two videos for Mural Arts Philadelphia's Wall Ball 2021

As part of the collective Hidden River Films, I edited and co-produced two videos for this year's fundraising extravaganza for world renowned Mural Arts Philadelphia, a glitzy and celebratory gala known as Wall Ball.  This year's ball was virtual, for obvious reasons, and Hidden River Films was hired to create two videos to highlight the important work of MAP in 2020-2021.  If you don't know their community uplifting mission, you can find out more on their website, but the best nutshell is their motto: Art Saves Lives.

This video portrays their cutting-edge program "Color Me Back" which is a one-day-for-pay art project in the Penn Station undergound aimed at helping people who experience housing insecurity to gain skills, get a boost in confidence, and get access to housing and employment resources.

This video highlights the amazing Kensington Storefront, an arts center in the heart of one of the Philly neighborhoods hardest hit by the opioid crisis. Staffed by artists and activists, this project addresses the question: can offering people in active addiction a creative outlet in a warm and welcoming environment make a difference in the fight against drug addiction?
